Wireless detection eliminates the need for hardwired connections. The ease of wireless installation minimizes disruptions to customers’ operations, reducing downtime and saving costly labor. The aesthetics of historic structures can be spared unsightly conduits and raceways, making patching and refurbishing virtually unnecessary. When temporary fire protection is needed during construction projects, wireless smoke and fire detectors are easily installed and just as easily removed when no longer needed.
VESDA by Honeywell is an aspirating smoke detection (ASD) system used for early warning applications where response to a fire is critical. Unlike passive smoke detection systems, air sampling detectors actively draw smoke into the detector through a piping network that runs throughout the protected area. VESDA systems are designed to alert the user any time the unit’s ability to detect smoke is compromised.
