Protecting commercial kitchens requires special consideration because of the presence of grease and high temperatures. UL300- compliant wet chemical kitchen suppression systems are seamlessly integrated into the cooking process.

Keystone's Restaurant Suppression Systems utilize wet chemical agents to extinguish fire. These chemicals react with cooking oils to create a blanketing layer of foam that eliminates the chance of re-ignition.

Kitchen system design is based upon the type and placement of appliances at the time of installation. Rearranging or replacing appliances will compromise the system's extinguishing effectiveness. Changes should never be made to appliance layout with out first consulting with a licensed fire protection specialist.

In addition to protecting the appliances under the hood it is required that all 40B:C dry chemical hand portable fire extinguishers be upgraded to K-class extinguishers. Commercial kitchens include those in hospitals, cafeterias, restaurants, church and social halls, nursing homes and all other non-residential cooking locations.
