Typical Usages:
Class D hazards are not common, are very difficult to extinguish, and emit toxic vapors. They burn hot (2500º F for magnesium, even higher for other metals). These dry powder agent extinguishers form a coating agent over the burning metals dissipating the heat. Fighting these fires requires an integrated approach including fire extinguishers, safety equipment, bulk agent, and thorough training. WARNING: most Class D hazards react violently with water, Halons, Halon substitutes and CO2.
