Typical Usages:
Carbon Dioxide or "CO2" extinguishers discharge a white cloud of carbon dioxide that smothers the fire by displacing the oxygen. You can recognize a CO2 fire extinguisher by its hard horn and lack of pressure gauge. It is designed for Class B flammable liquids and Class C electrically charge fires only. Because this type extinguisher displaces the oxygen, never use it in a confined space while people are present without proper respiratory protection. Carbon dioxide is a clean, non-contaminating, odorless gas frequently used in computer labs, mechanical rooms, and flammable liquid storage areas.
